Each October for the past 16 years, Rotary Club of North Hawaii hosts their largest fundraiser, OKTOBERFEST. All net proceeds from this event are directed to collegiate scholarships and community grants in North Hawaii. Each March for the past 16 years, Rotary Club of North Hawaii reviews these applications and issues awards.
This year, Rotary Club of North Hawaii is proud and honored to announce the following scholarship recipients!
Tyanna Aranaydo, from Honoka'a High, is planning to attend Hawaii Pacific University, accepted to the pre-nursing program.
Carly Yoshida, from Kealakehe High, is planning to attend Hawaii Community College at Palamanui to study nursing.
Skyla Elder, from Honoka'a High, is planning to attend the University of Hawaii at Hilo to study medical sciences.
Hailey Briseno, from Hawaii Preparatory Academy, is planning to attend the University of Hawaii at Hilo to study marine biology.
Taylor Doherty, from Hawaii Preparatory Academy, is planning to attend the University of San Diego.
Kudos to Skyla Elder for also winning the Joanna L. Sullivan award through Rotary's HRYF Scholarship Program!
If you are a high-school student in Hawaii planning to attend college or university, you may be eligible for a Rotary scholarship award. Rotary Club of North Hawaii considers all applications from students who are residents of North Hawaii OR students attending a high-school in North Hawaii. Under this policy, Rotary Club of North Hawaii covers more schools than any other Rotary Club in the State of Hawaii.
